I have a bunch of 1964's set back to search for this. Which exactly is the extra line?

So, is that a die crack or was it a die variation with the water line intentionally added?

I have many rolls of '64 and I have found only one. It was when I was just starting to collect basemetal coins. I found a '64 XWL when I first started and the nicest proof penny (1972) I have is from my first box. I have found others that I think are proofs but they all look not as good as my '72 proof.

Went through roughly 150 1964 nickels and no extra water lines found, anyone know the mintage of these? I know the 1964 base mintage is roughly 78 million and it seems these extra water line coins are a tad more than 20.00. One online going for 104.99 in ms-63 condition.

YA!!! Finally found one. What's with this site not being able to post a picture bigger than 256k? LOL only had to crop off 800kb.
