currency question

Postby JobIII » Fri Apr 13, 2012 11:07 am

This is for anyone that collects paper money.

I have a star note where the last 2 digits and the star are all a little lower than the rest of the serial number. If the digits are only slightly off would this be worth holding? The bill has seen a lot of circulation and shows wear (printed 2009).

The serial number alignment doesn't sound that drastic to me. If the digits were majorly shifted it would be something. It may be worth more than face if it's a short print run (320,000 or 640,000). What's the denomination, series and serial?

It's a $100 Star note. I believe the run was >640,000 some million range. Not rare.

COol just wanted to see if the 2009 $100 with a minor digit and Star shift was worth anything.

Thanks,

Star notes are cool and hard to find. They are kinda like Diamonds though. they only appeal to people who dont know there true value. One thing I have learned about paper money is Its a loosing battle. you either need to sell it right away or spend it on PM's

I collect paper currency, not for the potential resale vale, but because I like them. I'll pay "book" value for a FRN if it's in my price range and I don't have one of that denomination/series/Federal Reserve branch yet. I don't intend to ever sell.

Ed, was this an offer? I wasn't really sure what your post implied.
