Hi,

To me, being such a huge portion of the coin, I would probably rank it in large variety of post-mint trauma, a coin can experience.

Cheers,

I don't know why, but something in the back of my brain says it got buried and nematodes are responsible for the damage. It definitely looks like worm tracks of some sort.

On an unrelated note...what kind of album would you recommend for Canadian silver dollars? It doesn't look like Dansco has one, and I'm not overly fond of the Whitmans.

I own this book http://books.google.com/books?id=fGpzPvuNDy8C&printsec=frontcover#v=onepage&q&f=false and it shows that Whitman in the past made an album # 9511 Dollars 1935-1965 and Mr. Google found this http://www.cleinsrarecoins.com/Whitman%20Canadian.htm . I would think that album would be like the Dansco were you could see both sides but you could Email him and ask.

I Emailed Mike Diamond last years president of CONECA and he said you were all right!
Hi Joe.

The cent is suffering from severe corrosion and chemical damage. It does not appear to be a minting error.

Best regards,

Mike Diamond
