All you guys make me sooooo jealous I cant really get boxes of coin. such is life though... I remember as a kid I found mercuries rather often.. If only I had known! I actually saved them for awhile, just because they were different. with a pile of bi centennial quarters. I probably bought candy or baseball cards with them.

I am fifty and in 1977 in had complete Dansco set of Lincoln's with the 1922 plain,1909-S VDB the works. I sold them for a 1967 GTO with a bad title so no coins and no car. So it would be nice to turn the clock back. My son Franklin just needs the 1922 plain and the 1909-S VDB. We have counterfeit ones from EBAY filling the holes for now.

I talked to the owner of the LCS and he said he would trade one for one if Franklin got more than one of the same date/mint to help fill his folder. :D Also looks like we will be starting a Mercury folder and he will also trade to help fill that folder.

Barber Coinage (and anything before that for that matter) in terms of whitman books are hard to find. They have seemed to stop making those sometime ago, maybe in the past collecting seated and barber coinage was a cheap past time but its not now.

If you find any keep a death grab on them.

Good point. Probably stapling each one into a cardboard 2x2 would be a better choice there... that's the way I did it when I collected Barbers. But if I recall correctly, they were part of one of the early KSA's? I sold them all except for the ones my grandpa gave me.

ive seen lots of barber coins with odd reverse toning taken from those old whitman barber folders

must be a reaction to the glue or even the paper itself

Franklin just found a 46-S in a CWR. :D Also the owner of the LCS told Franklin that the 55 are hard to find so he traded Franklin one for one on some others that Franklin found for the 55s. Also he said that it has been over 35 years that the last time he saw someone filling a dime folder from the wild.
