whats with this mercury?

whats with this mercury?

scored two mercs in the same roll today!!!! a '42 and this '37. not sure whats going on where the #1 should be. its not a hole. anyone know anything about this? common thing? worth any more than silver content?

It's a failed attempt at a hole hahaha...looks like someone drilled it or hammered it, but couldn't get all the way through...a-hole messed that coin up :(

:o you must be rid of it soon. I ran onto a handful of these. What you cannot see is the rfid chip the federal government has inserted into the damaged area. Part of a program they've developed for locating paranoid hoarders. Quickly place the specimen into an envelope and send it to me. I will destroy it for you. Hopefully it hasn't set still long enough for the gps to kick in.

I got one of those the other day too. It looks like the PTB are really getting serious about finding us. :shock:

thanks for all the wonderfully colorfull answers! i get it, its nothing special, just a mercury pimple. i do know that it is not an attempt at a hole. the inside of the circle is no deeper than the surrounding area of the date at all. oh well, 2 mercs in 1 roll still made my day.
