help...how much weight is this?

Postby bman » Wed May 23, 2012 7:47 pm

I just saw this ad on Craigslist, this is about a 35-40 minute drive from my house. How much weight and what kind of metal are those radiators?

I would venture around 12-15lbs per ring. They are heavy. Even the small one is more than a two-man lift.

unless they are free, stay away. They are furnace cast, pays less that drop breakable cast. Don't ask why, I do not know.

it was all free but I think it's gone by now. I wish I had seen it earlier in the day, I could have gone by with my trailer and got it all.

I don't know much about scrap metal but I've lifted some of them before and I'd say that lot must be upwards of 500lbs maybe even double that depending on te thickness they are all manufactured to different qualities.
