I picked up $800 loose once. I also returned $750 loose into a lobby machine. The girls said they didn't care. They told me as long as I didn't mind waiting for the bags to be changed out. I rolled 3 5gallon buckets in and spend a little time chatting with the friendly tellers. A good way to pass some time on a boring Wed afternoon.

I only pickup a max of 2 boxes of cents at a time but usually return ~ $110-120 worth. The teller supervisor at one of my Half Dollar branches though did tell me that there used to be a customer that would pickup $1500 every single week. I couldn't even imagine them agreeing to order 60 boxes a week, much less opening all of those rolls!

The max pick up was $100 in pennies. I have dumped about $275 in mix. I always add different coins to the pennies to make it look like a normal change dump.

I used to have a standing 600.00 order at one bank for awhile.

When I was starting I had appr. 300.00 or so in "buy" money worked up, multiple buy banks and one dump bank. In 5 days I took that 300.00 "bankroll" and dropped 1500.00 in zincs on my one dump bank, earning me a big ole swat with the BANHAMMER, lol. The brinks people were NOT happy that week! I got told I was not even allowed to bring in so much as a coffee can of coins after that, hehe.

Another lesson learned the hard way!

Kurr, I got the ban speech once. I was dumping $3500 in halves one friday when I got called into the office. She said I had already dumped $5000 THAT WEEK. Ahhhhhh ok. I was told not to dump another penny into their machine.

Getting cut off is my biggest worry on the dump side. That is why I mix it up. I did loose one of my dump banks because they decided to not replace the free counting machines after they kept breaking. This forced me to dump at my buy banks, (not the same locations of course) but it ended up bitting in the bu**. About a month or so after I started dumping I realized the couple of boxes I was getting was my old dump mix of zincs.

Had to stop and find new sources. I keep 3 or 4 brands of banks on the line at all times now so if I want to buy big I can, or if I need to dump big I can.

Every week I pick up $6,000 at one bank, $1,500 at another, and then the next day I dump all $7,500 at the third bank.

We should differentiate between denominations, because a $1000 pick up of halves would be a lot less impressive than a $1000 pickup of pennies  .

As far as my acheivements, I picked up $300 in pennies once. My biggest dump would probably be $150-200 in pennies.

Pennies largest:

pickup $350
dump $600ish

I did dump $125.97 into a coinstar after work today to get a fee free Amazon card, but the machine messed up and I had to settle for fee free cash. :)

I wish I could get hundreds of dollars in pennies at a time. As it is, the most I've ever done is $50. I've only dumped once so far... $173.08 :D

I think the most I picked up was $100 and that was one box of pennies and the rest in rolls of quarters, nickles and dimes. After hand sorting the everything, I probably dumped about $100. It was a bust on finding any silver so I don't do quarters and dimes anymore. My bank can't get halves and said they aren't allowed to sell me the bags from the machine. And they don't have cwr's. So I just stick to pennies and nickles wrapped in NF String. On a bright note, the tellers did tell me I could order all the boxes of pnnies I wanted and they didn't mind me dumping them there even if I had $100 in pennies. Just wish I could get halves.

You act like I'm dumping $100,000 at one time...7 bags of coins ($1,000 in each bag) isn't all that much for those who do high volume let alone knowing the tellers for quite some time. And as far as picking up goes, that's only 12 boxes of halves and 6 boxes of dimes a week; once again not all that much for those who do high volume. So call me a "troll" if you wish, it won't offend me one bit, I promise.

Standard pickup is $600 in pennies per bank. I once dumped 2300 rolls of pennies at one bank (and they still haven't cut me off) This was right after I got my first automatic coin rolling machine. One week I dumped $3000 in bagged pennies at one bank.. but that was only 12 bags of pennies per day for 5 of the 6 days that they were open. That got me the BAN talk.. darn that squeeky wheeled cart! I have gotten much better at spreading my dumps around since then.

CRAZY amounts! I do about 2 boxes a week and dump at the same bank at get them from. I personally know most of the tellers outside of the bank and they understand.

Mogul-I didn't mean to challenge or offend you...was just very surprised at a newer realcent member doing such a high volume. I assumed you were talking $7000 in pennies, but I see now that you meant halves which a very reasonable amount. Keep up the good work :)

Myself, I don't think I have picked up more than $200 (pennies) in a trip. I have a couple banks that are ordering for me, usually $100 a week, but in my attempts to expand and ask for more boxes, I ended up getting completely cut off at some other branches. So now I am treading lightly, hitting more branches and other banks, and keeping the amounts lower to try and keep everyone happy.

I deposit around $20 pennies per trip. I mix it with other coins (I occasionally sort for silver). I like to imagine that it makes it less obvious. My desk is about 200 feet from one of my dump banks, so its no big deal.

No harm, no foul. :) I would do more pennies but I need to unload some coppers soon or I'll have to stop sorting!
