A Half Dump To Remember

Postby BamaJoe » Mon Nov 29, 2010 5:03 pm

Folks, I had one of those moments today when I couldn't stop myself. I was running some errands this afternoon passing thru a neighborhood I'm not in often when I happened to spot a Compass branch (Compass is my main dump bank). Since I happened to have 2 boxes of havles in the trunk I swung in to deposit them. It was a small branch with just 2 young girls working in the teller line - cute too I might add. No other customers so I walked up to the counter, placed my boxes down and said I would like to deposit them. They both just stared at the boxes for a few seconds - I really don't think either had anyone deposit a box of halves before. One of them started to process my deposit slip and while she was doing that the other looked at me and said "Is that how you get paid?". Of course I said "Yes". As the teller handling the deposit was handing me my deposit slip she said "Would you mind if I asked what you did?". Well thats when it happened, the little voice in my head was screaming "NO, NO, NO", but i ignored him and told them I was a male stripper and instead of being tipped bills I got tipped with 50 cent pieces. It was priceless folks, they both just stood there speachless with this look of total bewilderment and shock. :o  After about 10 seconds where neither moved an inch I just turned around to leave and as I was leaving I said to them "Yep, business is good, I'll be back to see you again soon".
If you are waiting for the "correction" to buy you need to realize that the increasing prices ARE the correction.

Funny story. I think in the end instead of saying business is good, you should have said nobody tips dollar bills any more due to the recession. Wonder how many of their friends are hearing your story now.

yeah, you are not going to be able to show your face again if you come in with less than 2 boxes of halves or with coins any smaller than halves.

on the other hand, if you go in there with some 5's or 10s, i mean a lot, you could get a date out of it.

Same hear except with coffee. Shooting coffee out one's nose should only be done on rare occassions. Reading this thread was almost one of them!

I was telling my wife about my little encounter last night and she looked at me for a moment and then said "What am I going to do with you". Then later she told me I better be nice and take them some candy next time I dump there.

BamaJoe.......THANKS for a well-needed laugh!

Too funny!!!

I agree that you should go back with boxes of a lesser denomination and just say that people in our area are definitely feeling the effects of the recession now. ;)
