1st Wild Indian 1865

Postby RxForPain » Thu Jun 07, 2012 5:24 pm

Stopped by the local bank this afternoon to deposit a few checks and grabbed $5 in customer hand rolls. The copper was pretty thin and there were zero wheats, but in the second to last roll I thought I saw a Canadian then low and behold my first Indian... appeared. Crusty and a little worn, but an 1865.

That is one helluva first.

Congrats! Now you'll forever be chasing that high. :D

Bully!
If I have the gift of prophesy, and know all mysteries and all knowledge, and if I have all faith, so as to move mountains but do not have love I am nothing. And if I give all my possessions to feed the poor, and if I surrender my body to be burned but do not have love it profits me nothing.

Don't mean to rub it in at all... I have searched the last two years and this is my first Indian. If it makes anyone feel better it is pitted and has been cleaned up by somebody along the way, but is still pretty crusty. I will say though it is the oldest coin I have found in circulation by far. The best I had done so far was a 1919 Wheat. Those of you out there still banging away don't give up there are still a few roaming around. I never thought I would find an Indian at all so if I can find one ... anyone can : ) Best of luck to everyone!
