Storage unit find

Postby corky569 » Thu Jun 07, 2012 9:55 pm

I don't know where else to post this so i'll post it here. I won a storage unit at auction last week. In the first truckload I found a plastic grocery bag of coins in a box full of pictures and bills. it was 108 dimes, 36 quarters, 15 90% halves, 2 40% halves, and a Morgan dollar. I also ended up with a bunch of sterling, and a little gold. The cash is from my yard sale.

I was thinking the same thing. How much acreage did you sell at your yard sale? ;)

I paid 750.00, 485.00 spot silver, and about 600 in gold. 2450 at yard sale. It was a good unit.

Wow $750. Quite a gamble, great score.

Was it exciting to see the booty?

How often do these pop up? And do the bad units just even out these mega scores?

I haven't had a "bad" unit yet. This was number three, my worst was 375 profit.

Congrats....I'd love to go to one of those and find fun stuff like that. But I don't have a place to put all the junk I'd find once I got it. LOL

Sure you do. After you win the auction, turn around to the mini-storage manager and say, "I'd like to rent some space here."

It was a 10x20, packed. I could see at least 500 from the door plus a TON of boxes. I thought it would go for 1200-1500. At 200 I jumped the bid to 600. Four people turned and walked away. I only had one other bidder, he bid 725, I bid 750, and that was it.
