No harm, no foul. :) I would do more pennies but I need to unload some coppers soon or I'll have to stop sorting!

Largest pick up for cents was $3200, Largest dump was $1900, this was proceeded with a pizza party at the bank a couple days before, with them setting the time to bring it in, so they could move it quickly.

I have a standing order every week for $8000 in Halfs. Then there are the calls from the various managers at banks wanting to clear there vaults up. The largest I can remember offhand was around $1000 in pennies. Someone had dropped them off, the bank was so happy that I would take it off there hands so it wouldn't sit in the vault. I know what your thinking.... Dangerous pickup? Probably another guys dump? It was right after easter service, from a church. YaY - it was around 20% copper. I don't have my "sort book" on me right now to check the stats on that one. Happy hunting everyone.

All this talk about dumping makes me want to visit the restroom!

The most I've picked up is 100 in pennies and 100 in nickels. Most dropped off? It was a small cooler full of mostly zincs, but with a few quarters and dimes in the mix.
I ended up with under $200 if I recall correctly. That reminds me! I have another container full of zincs and other mixed coin to take to the bank :)

I have never understood. Why do people use coinstar machines to dump. Don't they take a fee? Does this fee not make it cost more than just buying ctu's for $140?

I believe you can get the credit back in the form of gift cards for various stores/online for full value. Cash back takes a percentage of the total.

Amazon.com, Lowes, JCPenny are obvious choices if you shop there.

Land'send is also good at Sears so don't forget that as an option.

If you're in a market that has one of the grocery stores, you have a golden opportunity - everybody buys groceries.
