What condition do you think the 1921 is?

Im assuming somewhere between MS-60 and 61...wouldn't mind anything above that though...

I've been on a bit of a BU buying spree, might get a membership at pcgs and this one will definitely get submitted

Umm, be very careful man buying BU coins off of Ebay. I tried this back 10 years or so ago and thought I was clever...... Turns out those BU/Gem Bu coins I was buying came back from PCGS as AU55-58 and some body bagged as cleaned. Hope you have an exceptional eye that can pick these things up and if not.. ummmm tisk tisk

Yeah the 21-p "looks" like it could fall even out of the AU range or make a low AU grade. Not too sure about the 25-s looks decent in the pic but I wouldn't be surprised if it was MS details-Cleaned based on the starting bid price. There are a few rare home runs out there but a 100-700 dollar coin is going to be sent in for grading no doubt.

Im open to the possibility of failure...I've bid before on crappy pictures of ms coins, and done pretty well...

However, I know I just bought one that is at least ms-61 and I know I have one coming that I overpaid by far for and which, luckily, has a 7 day return policy if it turns out the way I expect it to...

I have some good comparisons and a good magnifier, as long as I don't pay much more that the example is worth in au-50, I should average ahead...but this is complete speculation, as this is an untested plan :)

First, congrats. Nice coin, although From what I can see comparing the '21 to the examples on the PCGS photograde it looks circulated. The good news is that considering what you paid for it is basically what one in G-4 is worth. If you send it in to be graded and it comes back in a higher grade, you have made money as long as its grade is high enough to pay for the grading and slabbing. If you don't send it in you still haven't lost money because I think you could resell it in the future and recoup your money. Although, I think you should send it in. I think its only about $30 and it could give you a coin worth close to $200 and grading would authenticate it because we all know there are a lot of counterfeit coins on ebay and make it easier to sell. I am not saying yours is fake but it is a key to the series and it is raw. And the Chinese love to fake high dollar coins. A few years ago, I bought what I thought was a great deal on an 1846 Seated Liberty dollar. Found out later it was fake. Now if I am looking for keys on ebay it has to be in a PCGS, NGS, or ICG holder. Good luck.

I'm agreeing more and more with this sentiment :(

If its not au-50 up, back it goes...

I'll look at it as a lottery, but I'll have to give the pics more weight over the description/listing in the future, as this time I just mass bid on a bunch of examples then watched the ones that stayed low

Look real close on that 21-p under a loop for rubbing/ hairline scratches.... looks a little bright (not sure) from the pic for a XF45-AU50. Still not a absolute terrible deal but think you could do better on that one. Not an expert by any means hell it could go MS as well... Hope you have a good eye for that and such :)

glad i caught this thread. I would for sure return it and leave a neutral for false advertisment. These people selling these coins know there not BU. Look at the hair its ef-45 max. And its also been cleaned or polished. Please send back and get your money back

Ok...

So Ive yet to get and return the 1921, which is invariably the route I will take, despite coming out about even as long as its ef or up...But I am not yet giving up on Ebay

Not the best score, but I figure I came out well on this one:

1925-probably ms-64 (maybe a +)--(54$)

this 1923 aint bad either (looks much better in hand): (33$)

Ive also seen a few promising listings on which im bidding and which I will post the results to once I snag them ;)
