Silver Rally

Perhaps I'll be 100% wrong but silver looks poised for a rally.
Cheers!

My pleasure fb101 and thank you for the kindness. $27.90 and adding lower if seen might make sense.

Up or down, the market never moves according to online forum consensus or popularity votes.
Right or wrong I just loaded some more at $26.92

Are other commodities going to rally or just silver?

Most are screaming armageddon and that all will fall so I guess all will bounce back. But I am probably going to be 100% wrong.

Just loaded a second full allocation at $26.89

Hey Jon, how are ya?......i'm not writing this post to bray, or be snipee, or trollish.....not AT ALL, just an on line "discussion"...i been better, my bru. i just got discharged the other day from the hospital, on Tuesday, out here the ranch, i thought i was prepping to have a nice heart attack in the AM on Tuesday.....for real. So i drove myself into the county seat hospital. (i know, thats stupid, but i got that macho thing going)...anyway, they then ambulanced me up to the bigger city hospital, where they were going to an angiogram, but couldnt, did a stress test, no blocked ateries, long story short.

i dont know what happened, i just got that "banding" kind of pain, and made the decision...GO! go the ER, now!

thats the point of my post to you.....to kind of reach out, since we done "butted heads" a few times, and i believe thats only coz this medium doesnt lend itself towards nuance in communication, and we live in two different parts of the jungle. Correct me if i'm wrong, but you lean more towards tech analysis...yeh?....and you can trade in the shorter time frames, right?....hats off to you, coz i dont know how you guys do it....better traders than i am, meaning i'm looking at the ticker....not just silver, but everything, and just like my "visit" to the hospital, i dont know what just happened.

see, i'm more macro, long term fundamentals, etc...which really doesnt lend itself go futures, or ETF trading, if you're an individual speculator....thats just me. Sure if i headed a $200 mln hedge fund, i'd be golden, but i dont. That said, your call at 27.90, following the market down was totally appropriate, 26.85, or .88, i forget what you wrote, totally appropriate.

i just hope you or anyone else here, doesnt have too sleepless a night...believe me, i know ALL TOO WELL, this stuff is HARD, and can be a frigging NIGHTMARE, so i just wanted to encourage you...to "make the calls"...or trade the calls, and in my opinion, there's no "right" or "wrong" calls, there's only, "does a guy have balls?"...or not?....or, is "a guy stand-up"?...or not. imo, all we really have, as men, is our word of honor, and honor is something to be held onto fiercely. thats my two copper mites.

one last thing, in 30 years of trading, i've have not seen anything like what is going on these days, market wise, geopolitically, socially....the big picture. i cannot figure out whats REALLY going on. i think we got nailed by that old Chinese curse, "may you live in interesting times"

I didn't post this yesterday so for all anybody knows I could just be talking about my arse, but when I first saw this thread I thought to myself "well, if people think it's going up it must be about to go down"
Silver: the Rodney Dangerfield of precious metals.

If it's printed on a piece of paper it's worth the paper it's printed on.
If it's a digital asset it's worth the electrons in cyberspace.

I shorted yesterday, but got out of it a few hours later. Too bad I didn't hang on until today :(

That being said, with banks being downgraded, I'm looking long. Technical support is around what, $26.50? We are around 30 cents from that. If it holds tomorrow, then on Monday I will buy more paper.

But don't listen to me. I'm not a pro.

Neil, am so glad to hear that you are safe and had the wisdom to seek help when needed! Seriously glad to hear that you took action and were treated and now back on the ranch. I only wish the best for you.
As far as trading goes, it's nothing in comparison to what matters most. My approach is one of serenity. I get mildly emotional if any at all when it comes to trading. For far too long the price hasn't done what I thought the funnymental picture would suggest, which itself seems far too elusive. That scenario works hard in the mind and causes far too much cognitive dissonance.
What I found worked best for me and the various commercial clients over the years was price and price alone. Mark to market, hedge effectiveness etc are all calculated on the actuals and not the wishes or desires to be anything different. Price has shown enough to be the ultimate indicator as well as the collective balance between all positions.

As such, the trades, whether hedges or spec book positions are executed for very short term to quite long term in both the physical and financial markets using exchange traded contracts as well as forwards, strips, swaps, options deployed solo or in combination according to defined strategies in a disciplined process. The mechanics makes trading quite emotionless as hope, fear, greed etc are replaced with " just another day in the office". Outcomes are based on expectancy in a statistical sense, knowing that any single position is just part of a larger statistic. Win or lose, the preference is in taking the odds over and over again, the same way a casino has a positive expectancy and only smiles upon someone who wins a hand at the table. For the same reason the casino will "comp" that player, 5- star due diligence meetings are offered in our business to certain counterparties. I should stop there with that point.

So yes, easy to sleep well at night when disciplined in following a specific strategy with a well understood expectancy.
I hope you are sleeping well and resting in your recovery. God bless ya mate. Only hope the best for you and yours.

Cheers!

All of the trading bots have stops and limits and algorithms that say that on a given price, they should buy or sell. The bullion banks trade the traders who employ those algorithms. All they have to do is put in a manipulatively large sell order, which triggers everyone's bots to sell, while they are unwinding their own sell order and buying all the way down. Then they slowly go short back up to their next rig job. I just buy bullion on the drops and stack it :)

Dude, glad you saw fit to pay attention to a warning sign, but your approach of driving yourself is questionable. You need to think of other options!
