I received a jar of pennies in my stocking for Christmas. One dime and one plastic "play money" penny was in there.
Maybe instead of switching over to steel coinage, we should switch to plastic? They would surely make it by the magnet, while steel wouldn't.

I guess the same way I got a nickle and a 1/4" flat washer from a machine roll. Puzzling but it does happen.

I got a plastic dime ina penny roll. Dime even says "copy" on it.

I was sorting a bank bag of pennies for the second time through with copper accept then zinc accept. The Ryedale was working great for over $100. It then jammed. When I cleared out the jam, a plastic penny was the cause. That was my second one in 2 months. Not sure how it made it through the first time through.

Another plastic penny found in a $50 bag.
It is a **** date and says "SCHOOL MONEY" where In God We Trust is on a real cent.

Third one I found in as many months.

I have I believe yet to find one, but now I remember a few weeks ago I did get a piece of cardboard the size of a penny, a few months ago, in halves, I have a free rail drink from a bar 200 miles away, and the bar is still in business, they may not honor it, they'll change them every few years here, then not take the old ones anymore.

I picked up a $50 bag today and so far have found 8 plastic pennies in the bag. Looks like a kid was adding to mom's penny jar. Finished the bag and found 2 more for a total of 10. Guess that offsets the 1 dime I found in the bag.

My very first 20 rolls to start off my copper hoard the other day had a copper penny in it. I wonder what the bank would do if you brought it to them and told them you found it in their rolls

Found a plastic DIME the other night going through a Loomis box. It was the 51st "coin" in the roll.

It is dated 2003-D and has COPY on the reverse.

This came from a $500.00 bag on 06/02/2012...

PLASTIC DIME - 1999 w/ COPY on both obverse & reverse.

This is my 2nd one in as many months. The last one, dated 2003 proudly went to uthminsta for one of his daughter's birth year sets!!!
