I love the stacks, and I think it's great that CNN is willing to talk about precious metals.

But, I can see why CNN is having some of its lowest ratings ever, when the have a guy like Paul R. La Monica “Assistant Manging Editor” (1:03) on their payroll... Anyone know what a Manging Editor does? Much less his assistant?...

I wish I had that much gold! I accept donations if anyone has too much. The price has been dropping so you will feel better if you give it away and not have to worry about it any more. :P

I just found this post. I tried to do the math and don't think there was more than $600,000 in gold and silver there. But who's counting once u get that high

Kinda heavy set dude is the muscle. In case u didn't notice. Same guy that walked out the elevator w the gold man.
He was keeping a lose eye until the cameras panned on him. Then he tried to be relaxed/ non-chelant.

Back in the stone age (late 60s), when gold was $42/oz, a large PM company I worked for had a million dollars worth of pure gold temporarily stored in their vault, all in 400 oz bars, all sitting on one very heavy duty cart. That's about 60 bars, 23,809 tr.oz., or 1633 pounds (avoirdupois). Today, it would be worth about $37.4 million. A few of us got to go in on a Saturday and see it and handle the 27# bars. I took my son with me but he was too young to remember it. I certainly have never forgotten it.

About 15 years ago I was working as a locksmith. I was sent out to work on the locks on a set of man trap doors at the Delaware Depository. They made you put on a smock with no pockets that had short sleeves and came down below your knees. The place had dozens or more pallets of 400oz gold bars. Silver too.

From the outside you wouldn't think much of the building, besides the chainlink, barb wire fence and cameras. But the security was extreme.
