We have a dead forklift battery here at work. It weighs over 1-ton. Big Steel Outer Case with lead cells inside. This thing is huge. Are these worth scrapping? Should I just call around to some local scrap yards?

Looks like your work will want to trade it in towards a new one. New forklift batteries are big bucks...

Light iron 300lbs @ .08lb / $24.00

Old sheet 18lbs @ .50lb / $9.00

Don't know how they figure that since I was only weighed on the way in, and again when empty on the way out. And I got zero for the half section of aluminum ladder. The guy weighed it on a smaller scale, then handed me a ticket that said $0.00 :? Ok......

Still, I was on my way to the dump with the junk, so $33.00 bought me a soda and two lottery tickets.

I worked on some steel, SS steel and a bit of copper today, but haven't taken them down yet. I haven't been doing to much lately, but still pick up the easy stuff I find.

I bought in a bag of cans and a couple of old electric motors, got $49. Prices seem low, but better than nothing I suppose.
