Poll: Where should I TRY to spend my $20 silver coin

Postby frugalcanuck » Sat Jul 07, 2012 12:22 pm

Just seeing where you guys think I should attempt to see if these $20 coins work the same as money.

If you have good reason behind your choice please let me know.
"The study of money, above all other fields in economics, is one in which complexity is used to disguise truth or to evade truth, not to reveal it. The process by which banks create money is so simple the mind is repelled. With something so important, a deeper mystery seems only decent." John Kenneth Galbraith 1975

That depends of if you really want them to take it from you in exchange for goods.

My vote is dont spend it. I wish the US made these, and they were readily available at face. I dont care if some places dont know what they are. I had a stack of clad ikes one time a gas station refused to take. Up in canada you guys have about 3000 or so commemorative coins, I bet there are folks at the mint that dont even know all of them. Wouldnt bother me at all some places dont know what they are.

21... shipped. :D

Americans can buy the 20 for 20 coins. I thought about picking one up, but I figured I'd wait for a design I like.
