Scranton PA Mayor puts all city employees on minimum wage

The city's payroll account is down to $5,000. after Fridays payroll. All 400 employees, including the mayor, were paid $7.25/hr in Fridays checks.

The vast majority will still be overpaid.
If you are waiting for the "correction" to buy you need to realize that the increasing prices ARE the correction.

I applaud this.

Not because they are over paid. I won't get into that one.

But because: If you are running a business and you can't afford to do so then you have to cut costs. The #1 cost in most businesses is payroll. So that gets cut.

Running the government with some semblance of BUSINESS SENSE is mandatory if the government is to continue to run without destroying regular business.


Normally that's what is done -> The government is running out of control so they destroy the rest of the businesses with them.

Finally the RIGHT MOVE was done -> cut costs.

however I do applaud the idea.

I like it too. IMO, unions have no place in taxpayer-funded positions. It's not like they would be getting paid in scrip without them...

it worked so well with the post office............


workers unions are a cancer on the economy, the government, as well as anyone outside of the unions.
