I have about $250 of IKEs (not silver) and about the same in nickels...

Should I cash in the IKEs or the Nickels?

yep...sell...the Ikes may bring in $1.10 here on RC. Dump the nics I don't think you will get a premium for them on RC.

I'd cash in the nickels. You can easily get more from the bank later. Ikes don't show up at the bank very often.

You will not get a premium for the nickels. As was stated you can always get more later.
I buy Ikes for a small premium but I only get paid on the 3rd Wed each month. And I can usually only swing about a hundred.

To be honest.... I thought everyone was going to say sell the IKEs... I even carried them all in a knapsack last weekend to dump them.

Ikes havent been in circulation in 30-40 years and are cool. These should be cash at the last resort.

Nickels are endless supply right now with no premium at all. Sell these and buy them back later. Remember at these prices even if they legalized melting nickels they still wouldnt melt them because its Cupro-Nickel and by the time everyone takes their cut- the coin will be placed right about face value!

If you go to garage sales or flea markets you can usually get better prices if you pay with IKEs.

They are starting to institute a 13 cent per roll charge here in Canada at one of the major banks. Meaning the small change will definitely be more expensive to get later.

Which bank? I've been getting pennies at Royal Bank no fee, I even score the occasional
box of pennies from TD and don't even have an account there.

Just wondering if it's a nationwide policy or just certain branches or regions.

You didn't mention if these are sorted or special nickels. If they are just bank rolls of common nickels, then I say sell them too.
