So I placed an order with Goldeneaglecoin and I got 2 1 oz silver bars. The thing is, I think these bars might have some collectors value instead of just content. The 2 bars I got are(links are to other's auctions of this type of bar) :
"The General" 1862-1972
http://www.ebay.com/itm/1861-1972-THE-G ... _725wt_952http://www.ebay.com/itm/THE-GENERAL-LOC ... 1812wt_952"The Cowboy" by The Lincoln Mint
I can't find any listing for the bar I have, but the listing for other bars from The Lincoln Mint to be carrying a higher premium. The bar depicts a cowboy wielding a rifle while mounted on a horse with a little mountainous land in the background.
EDIT: Found an ended auction of it

the General was a locomotive that was stolen (unsuccessfully) by a band of Yankees during the War of Northern Aggression. They got as far as Ringgold headed towards Chattanooga when they abandoned their crime.
have no idea about the value of these art bars.

For me, silver is silver when buying. If when selling, someone wants to pay more than a reasonable premium, then I will take the offer.

Asking price is not an items value...
While 'collector' art bars may look neat, they rarely have or deserve a premium...
But no harm in posting on eBay if no fees are incurred right?
Good luck!

I usually buy art bars b/c I like the way they look. I never look at them other than silver 1 oz bars.
Hopefully, if/when I sell them, someone will pay me more than spot.
enjoy!

How did you like the transaction with goldeneagle? I'm looking at picking up a cpl items from them and can't find much positive feedback about them. I've used Apmex, Scottsdale, SilverGoldBull... How would you rate your purchase with them? Thanks

It was OK, the processing was kinda slow, but once shipped it was pretty quick. I'd rather go with aydin
