Paid $19 times face for a batch of 90% silver.
So I paid $9.50 for a 1910 barber half that is Au 55 and a circulated proof.
My LCS already offered me $250 for it. Didn't sell it yet.
I call that a score
In the same batch found
3 almost perfect proof franklin halfs
1 almost perfect BU franklin half
4 Washington Q proofs and
about 15 au-ms mercs.
Sweet score today
Awesome!! Where the heck do you guys find all these good deals anyway???
Someone needs to teach this ole lady some need tricks!!!
Hi Pam,
I buy coins all the time and I have various dealers that call me to come and buy stuff from them because they know I have the cash to buy whatever they put in front of me.
Therefore, I occasionally get sweeeet deals. This coin and the proofs were overlooked at first, but the Barber caught my eye for some reason even though it was quite dirty. Turns out a different dealer paid me $350 for it
.
I get maybe 3- 5 surprises like this per year but I buy from different folks about 5-8 times a week. Like today one of my regulars called and I had to buy 4 - 100 oz silver bars. He wasn't sure what he was going to sell today but it didn't matter to me, if he brought platinum or gold or silver in any form I would buy it from him and he knows I always have enough $$$ to buy whatever he is selling.
So did I teach you any new tricks in the past 90 seconds?
Good luck on all your adventures.
PEACE
