Totals for the year

Postby wayne1956 » Sun Dec 05, 2010 7:48 pm

Had a pretty decent year for doing this part time. My totals for 2010 are:

Steel/tin - 32,350 lbs
AL breakage - 182 lbs
Aluminum - 337 lbs
Alum/copper coolers (clean) - 222 lbs
Copper - 49 lbs
Electric motors - 110 lbs
Whole compressors - 178 lbs
Insulated copper - 67 lbs
Brass - 36 lbs
Batteries - 321 lbs
Stainless steel - 166 lbs
Auto radiators - 20 lbs

Total compensation received - $3430.10

The vast majority of the money went to purchase 1/4 ounce AGE (3) and a BUNCH of junk 90% silver. I purchase quite a bit of the silver early in the year, so it has seen quite a bit of an increase.

Merry Christmas and Happy scrapping!!!!!!!!!!!! :D :D :D

i do the same thing with my scrap proceeds --- guns and silver ! :)
My reading of history convinces me that most bad government results from too much government.

This was my first year that I picked up steel. If I broke down something hat had steel I kept it but other than that I would drive by the steel. It has made a big difference this year with the steel making up 86% of the weight and 46% of the cash I have got this year!

If you can score a cheap trailer you can keep the steel (after removing the non-ferrous stuff) on it and once the trailer is full then take it in. A trailer will help keep it looking neater and will keep it more organized. Plus it will be ready to go when it is filled up, instead of having to load everything at once when you think you might have a trailer load.
