A decent dime bag.

This forum is for discussing hunting and collecting US and Canadian circulation Silver Bullion Coins, other types of minted bullion, and other types of precious and base metal investments other than Bullion Pennies and Nickels.

A decent dime bag.

Postby corky569 » Mon Aug 06, 2012 10:01 am

I've been searching 1000.00 dime bags for about 2 or 3 months now. I've been averaging about 10 silvers a bag. I occasionally get a bag from a local casino, and always hope for someone's silver dump. I think it finally happened. In all of the bags I've searched, I've never pulled two silvers out in one handful. My first handful out of this bag had two. I proceeded to pull 16 doubles, a triple, and a quadruple!! My handfuls are pretty small too, about 2 dollars on average. I pulled my first Barber, a Merc and a King George Canadian! The best part is I have another bag from the same casino waiting for me at the bank. I can only hope!! :P

Wow, what a nice haul! Not only did that dummy get taken by the casino, he forked over silver and got taken by you too :)

Nice going. Too bad, but the casinos here don't use coins anymore. I remember collecting a bunch of silver Kennedys back in 1990's. I think the slots went to cash only about ten years ago.

Decent??? YIKES!!! I would say a killer bag.

I get $500.00 bags pretty regularly and my record is 16. Nice thing about them though is that they consistently put out 4-5 per bag, rarely less. I'm still waiting on a bag like yours or some boxes like CnC scored last year (80+ in a couple of boxes if I remember correct). My time will come!!!

Most casinos I know of don't use cash in the form of coins anymore. Insert the cash into the machine and get a bunch of credits. When done playing, machine gives you a ticket with a dollar amount on it.

Casinos in southern Wisconsin, anyway.

The casinos here don't use coins either, but if you bring a jar/bag/bank full of coins they will cash them in hopes of you losing them.

Dude, "a decent dime bag" had a whole different meaning back when I was in college. :P

I was excited about 33 dimes in a bag a couple weeks back, but you hit the ball out of the park. :)

Hearing this makes me think I should try dimes after all... but I think I would be too paranoid to put them back into the machine...

I sent a link to this thread to a friend of mine with the message:

realcent.org where "dime bag" means a bag of dimes! :)

Sounds almost like the "What did you think it was made out of?" commecials that
were run for Rice Krispies a few years back. Ironically obvious but not thought about
much. :D

I only found the "other" meaning of these terms when I goolged "nickel bag" to see how
active of a buying/selling market .999 Canadian nickels were outside of this forum and
the odd Ebay sale. Never did find much, too hard to pick through all the sites using the
other meaning of the term, they apparently outnumber us. ;)
