So do you like them? Are they worth the extra premium? You don't see them very often in the US, but a few are around. The ones selling on eBay normally come with a hefty price tag.

What say you?

The larger the bar, the more limited the peer-to-peer market is, and dealers probably won't pay a premium. Larger chucks also mean less versatility/liquidity if you need to trade or sell some.

Like any other bar, the premium depends on the brand and vintage. Basic modern kilos are available for $1 over spot all day long.

+1 what Nate said...but I love the kilos. And they're not all that big, really. Depending on the size of the stash, a kilo or two fits in nicely. Way better than the 100 oz, for sure.

The only downside is that you are not given the choice to pick the bar you would get. I'd want an Argor Chiasso or Suisse Credit versus a generic brand...

+1 to what Nate said. Also if you are dealing with the average guy he might not know how many ounces are in a kilo.

I think they only have four bars in inventory and my guess is that all would be OPM.

Unless they are a Canadian, especialy those of us about 40 yrs old are used to flipping
back and forth between the 2 measurement systems. ;)
