Took yesterday off and went to Chicago in Ferris Bueller style
finally finished the bag today
I weighed the coins a rough count

Went to my pickup bank to grab my order of nickels. While I was there they mentioned they had 2 bags of pennies. Hesitated, then decided to take them off their hands, as I know they like getting rid of the bags and I had room for them. Got home and started unloading the nickels out of the trunk and I noticed the bag laying on it's side had a lot of copper in it.

I looked a little closer, and staring back at me were about 3 dozen wheat cent backs. I looked some more, and saw a bunch of 40's and 50's faces. Hoping to find a little older wheats, but happy with what I can see. I'm getting ready to go through this bag penny by penny, I'll keep you guys updated. Time to grab a beer and get busy!

Yeah, pretty happy knowing something cool is there.

So far, seems like someone dumped their 40s and 50s collection nothing older than that. don't think I'll be finding any IH's or 09's. can still hope, though, lots of bag left.

Awww, what an awesome bag! In the early 80's that was common. We would sort out the wheaties and dump the rest. We didn't know how good we had it. Now it's a rare find.
