Oh my flipping @&$&@&!! (Added pic)

Wow... So thought I would relax and slam 24 boxes this Friday night and what the heck do I get... 19 brinks boxes of zinc dumps... Maybe 10 coppers per box. Yes, I ran them...
One thing I noticed is that those plastic brinks rolls are hard to get zincs out of. What a pain.

Ack, that sucks! Get a feel for them zinc boxes, I can now tell without opening the box up if it's full of zincs. I want to bring the tellers a scale and get them to weigh the boxes, giving me the heaviest ones but feel it might be to much to ask.

I actually have that scale. It came in really handy when this sort of thing happened a few years ago. I would go down and pick up a stndard 24 box order and bring them home. Then I would sort them by putting the sealed box on the scale and putting it immediately in the outgoing stack if it weighed 14.1 pounds. Some of the fastest sorting I ever did. The scale is one used by vendors and can either be plugged in or run off bateries. Even comes with a handy carrying case.

If they were in the plastic wraps you should have just sorted them by hand if there was only 10 per roll! Would have been faster.... lol ;)

Fortunately, the only times I got boxes like this were

1. The coppers were all older wheats
2. The zincs were new 2009 and I made a nice profit off of the dirty rolls.

We call those "zebra" rolls. They do that to discourage hoarding of new pennies when they first come out and have market value. I have been known to process a few of those dirty rolls and fix them. Having a few automatic rolling machines comes in handy sometimes. I would like to get 3 or 4 boxes of 2012 P's but can't pay too much since they don't have the market value they had at the beginning of the year. Of course if I can get the 13's early in the year they are worth more to all of us.

I can get new boxes easy from BancFirst and new $2 bundles from a local credit union. Just haven't seen the pallet bulks dumped out this way. It's just a matter of time before they're gone.
next on the list is a glory wrapper and a del la rue if I can find a steal.

So far, though only a hand sorter, the boxes I get have, with few exceptions, continued to run 28-31% copper (included weighed 82s). I have noticed a distinct decline in older date wheat ears. Generally average about 10-12 wheats per box ... sometimes more, sometimes less ... but about 95% in the past few months have been all post 1941. Where I live we get either Loomis or String rolls. Don't see the plastic wrapped rolls at any of the banks we pick up from.

Now let's see ... where is that blasted cat! I'm hungry. woof, whine, drool, sniff ... 'here kitty, kitty, kitty, nice kitty. Where are you little kitty?

That sucks. I've never had one like that before, but I imagine it's just a matter of time.

Great machines.. I hoard them. I have 3 of the Glory wrappers and 4 of those DLR's.. a Mach 3, Mach 5 and a pair of Mach 7's.

Use a sharp blade, score them from top to bottom, bend them in the middle and, they pop right open! :)

I don't think those are dumps. I have gotten many like that that are all brand newly minted coins with some dirty ones thrown in the mix.
