Got a fair deal on some gold today.

I stopped by one of those "we buy gold" stores today. I chatted with the guy for a while to see what kind of deals might be had. I ended up buying three 1/10th oz Gold Eagles for $160.00 each. 8-) He got more than if he sold to a smelter and I paid spot with no mark-up or S&H.

He is going to call me whenever he gets any coins in before he sends them out too.

Sounds like we should establish the RCsmelting company. Notify all the pawn shops, coin stores and we buy gold places that we pay 80% of melt plus shipping.

Amazing on 2 fronts, first that there's someone out there melting gold eagles, but secondly there apparently are also people out there selling their gold coins for 50-60% of melt. Wish those people would come into our coin shop.

Anyway, congratulations on your purchase.

I tried contacting my local cash for gold dealers and was told they don't buy coins, only jewelry. Nice grab on your part :D

I went back last week and got another 1/10th oz gold eagle for $162.00
Today I sold him a 10K ring and 3 14K earrings that I found for $100 (worth closer to $150 melt) :? and bought a Ellis Island commemorative silver $1 for $23 8-)

he had 2 PCGS MS69 $50 Buffalo 1oz gold coins but he wants $1800 each for them. Too rich for my blood!
