6 different websites = 6 different prices for spot silver?

6 different websites = 6 different prices for spot silver?

Postby pennypicker » Sun Sep 09, 2012 11:54 am

Could someone please recommend a reputable website that gives a current up to the minute price for spot silver. For weeks now I've been visiting six different websites and they all give me slightly different values for spot silver. Such is the case with friday's market close as I'm getting six different silver prices ranging from $33.57 at silverseek.com to $33.73 at silverprice.com. I'm simply looking for just (one) website that I can consistently go to for accurate up to the minute spot silver prices. Thanks for any help, Don.

Currently I've been using these six cites:

silverseek.com
bullionstacker.com
kitco.com
coinflation.com
pcgs.com
silverprice.com

I haven't tried to resolve the specific differences between the ones you list but be aware that there are different types of closing prices. First of all there is bid (what is being offered) and ask (what is being asked). Then there are futures prices bases on different expiration dates. And there are different markets which close at different times. These can easily create a range of price. Check to see if you are comparing apples to apples.

Thanks 68camaro. Yes I'm probably not comparing apples to apples due to the variables you cite. Slickeast did recommend Kitco and they give a closing spot price of $33.68 and that is the same price currently being used by coinflation.com as well. Based on this I will just use Kitco from now on and rely on their spot silver quote. Thanks guys! :)

A later report, but 3 hours later it seems to be working for me.
