washer suggestions

the washer crapped out.... do i have to disassemble??? pull the motor?? and what about the drier??
we were also given a new hot water heater. what do i need to do , to the old one for scraping??

Pull the motors and the wires.

Pull the brass pressure releif thing and the brass/copper inlet/outlet couplers. Electric, pull the wire/gas there is a small amount of copper by the thermo-coupler.

The rest goes in the steel heap.

I just did a dead one from the neighbor a few weeks ago.

The motor is worth far more when removed. Same for the wire.

If there is a circuit board in the control panel pull that too.

The rest is considered sheet metal.

Be sure to pull the agitator off and check under it. I have found a lot of coins there when I repaired machines at a laundromat.

I know this thread is old, but I am in this situation right now. My dad is a bit of a scrapper, and just got a washer. It was tipped over in the back of his truck, and I pointed out the copper on the motor, said that's got to be worth more separate. But my question is, should I save the motor as a whole, or disassemble it and remove the copper wire, etc?
