North Dakota has a lot of oil money coming in. We are even socking away a percentage that can not be touched until 2017. But the residents of the state were not smart enough to vote out property taxes. I can't figure it out. With this being an agricultural state and anyone that owns a home or any other property you would think it would have been a slam dunk to do away with property taxes. There are a lot elderly people on fixed incomes that own their homes free and clear but are being forced out of their homes because the property taxes keep going up every year. So even though your name is on the title you really still do not own your property. What is even more disgusting is the vote wasn't even close. An overwhelming majority voted to keep property taxes.

that or the IRS has their hand in the ballot box. ;)

who in their right mind would vote to keep a tax? property tax and the irs should be eliminated. the irs is unconstitutional and one could argue illegal.
