Found some scrap titanium, low grade stuff, maybe 10 pounds.

Large aluminum plate, maybe 80 pounds.

I gleaned 20 pounds of wire left over from some electricians and 6 pounds of EMT.

Got $26 for it!

Made $28 today on the first scrap run of my new job.

Those goofy electricians! I spied a large 3 phase breaker panel in a roll off dumpster
and grabbed it for the steel. Bonus! The buss bars were solid copper, over 20 pounds
by themselves. Got almost $50 on what was headed for the landfill, and it took
less than an hour to separate the metals. The breakers fetched nothing.

Now if I could only follow those guys to the next job..........

That is good to know! I have an old Square D breaker box I can't find any breakers for. Hopefully, there might be some on eBay.

Today, I scrapped out a clothes dryer. Saved all the stainless steel. When I got down to the motor... it was wound in copper coated aluminum wire! Ugh!

The pickup is full of aluminum cans, alum. roof flahings, aluminum guttering and the stainless steel from the dryer. Off to the scrap yard first thing tomorrow.

How old is the breaker box? I'm guessing it's XO style breakers. Send me a picture if you ever need breakers. I probably have some on the shelf at work.

I will put it on the truck and see what happens. It got pretty beat up while I was scrapping.

Good advice. Now that I have a truck I am on the look-out for people throwing out appliances, but I haven't got one yet.

Have you looked at the "free stuff" section on Craig's List? In my city there are lots of appliances gotten rid of that way.

This is not scrap, but I picked up some stuff I need at the dump yesterday.

Metal hot water stand (I need to install one in my HW closet, this saved me some bucks!)
Painters small step ladder ( During remodels, you can always use another one!)
Heavy duty push broom handle/ hot mop handle, never used (We wear them out fast)
A large hanging pot holder/stand ( I can always use another one!)

Maybe $100 worth brand new. Yippee!

This past week I found about 2 lbs of Al cans, 200 lbs steel, 1 lb copper and 3 brass locks.

Picked up a washing machine sitting on the curb that said "free - works". Looks to be about 10 years old. I'll hook it up at home to verify it works and see what used washers go for on CL. $50-$100 is my guess if it works.
