Today while roll searching I got a whole roll of 1971 S proofs.... how weird is that? I am going to keep em.

I vote for very weird!
Was it a brinks box or string n sons? Or was it just a loose roll that someone turned into a bank?
Either way - very cool find and I'd probably keep them too.

Not as strange as you might think...I have a long list of S halves I've found in rolls.

They were CRWs I have not graduated to boxes. I asked how many halfs they had and bought 12 rolls.... oh and one had 21 coins in it.

I just looked at your website and it says 0 circulation strikes with an s mint mark in 1971. You posted the numbers for 1971 S .01 cents. I am talking about .50 half dollars.

It wouldn't be a brinks box or any major coin processing company. They throw all the coins they get into a machine and they all get mixed up and rolled. The chances of getting a full roll of 1971 S Proofs are damn near impossible.

I should have played the lotto..... I just can't see someone busting 20 proof sets open to roll them up and cash them in for ten bucks..... nor do I understand why someone would have 20 1971 proof sets. Just seems odd.
