So why wouldn't I pick it up?

Discussions about scrap yards, scrap yard prices, melting, refining, and obtaining metals from scrap or unconventional sources.

So why wouldn't I pick it up?

So even though people laughed at me I still put it in my pocket.

Nice work sir. Only praise from us.

When I fill my tank at the gas station, I am always scanning the ground for pennies. Find them all the time!

Those people don't know what real money is, let's just keep it that way for a while so we can all get our share. 8-)

Okay, I gotta draw the line at picking up a copper lincoln out of a urinal...... it's gotta be at least a 90% Washington quarter! :P

No shame here. Last year we went to a little league game for my son. They had recently done some construction and the parking area was littered with junk several people got flat tires.

I got about 20 pounds of scrap metal. Yes people looked at me funny. The family left me there. One of the pieces looked a lot like yours except that it was 2' long.

Congrats and scrap on!!!

When I was in my 20's at this one bar some joker always dumped 50 cents or more of pennies in the urinal, by the end of the night they were gone

It's amazing what people will do when they have had too much to drink!

TOO MUCH TO DRINK!!!
When I was 19 I attended a beer festival that went until 2AM.
This was before the 5 cent deposit on cans.
I stopped drinking about 11:30 because I noticed there was about 30,000 cans (aluminum) everywhere, overflowing out of the garbage cans and all over the field we were in.
After everyone left I stayed until the sun came up picking up cans.
I can't remember exactly but I netted somewhere over $300 by taking them to the scrap yard the next day.
That's what happens to me when I don't drink enough
Now accepting direct payments through Wells Fargo bank and TD bank.

The local amusement park has concerts. When I was in college, my friend worked security at the concerts. He would get us free passes, I would borrow my older brothers pickup. After the concert we would wait in the parking lot and pick up cans. One guy drove while the other two picked up cans. In an hour we would get about $200 worth of cans. After an hour they would kick us out.
