I have heard the counties were going to take it over. Also anything above 100 bucks must be paid in check form. Heard something about you can get in trouble if you have more than 20lbs of copper on your truck. I know that you now have to have a business and proof there of, if your trying to sell air conditioner parts. Photo of the driver is required along with a picture of the truck and license plate. I have heard also, that after the counties take it over, you will have to wait 30days before you get your payout. This is information that a local buyer shared

Similar red tape exists in other areas around the country. I wish someone would tell me how much crime has been uncovered with all this "protection".

No it's not. But it sure is making it easier for the government to keep track of your scrap profits.

Ahh yes it is. You can no longer sell a/c parts without being a buisness. plus u have to have drivers license, photo of the seller and their vehicle and tag. I agree with the government part.

Pretty much the same new laws in AZ.

No more scrapping ACs, it went into effect this spring.

It won't matter though. Mexico is too close.
If I have the gift of prophesy, and know all mysteries and all knowledge, and if I have all faith, so as to move mountains but do not have love I am nothing. And if I give all my possessions to feed the poor, and if I surrender my body to be burned but do not have love it profits me nothing.

I know an AC guy who is threatening to quit the business over the paperwork trying to scrap old equipment. In addition to the scrap laws, there's also the freon reclamation to deal with and the BS has gotten so bad that some AC guys are using dead people's license numbers when scrapping just to keep the government off their backs during audits.
