Agora Financial Talks About Nickels

They only mention "nickel" once, but it's obvious they're talking about our favorite coin.

I just skim read the article, but can anybody explain this... "Had you invested just $10,000 into this secret in 1972 for example, you’d be sitting on over $315,000 today."... Seems to me if you bought $10,000 worth of nickels in 1972, you would have exactly $10,000 now.

Or a wee bit more if you sort out the war nickels. Percentages were probably pretty decent back then ;)

It seems the $10,000 mentioned in his sales pitch would go into something other than nickels. He's offering three separate money-making ideas. Most of the letter could have been written by someone here at realcent. Alright, y'all, whoever wrote it, fess up!

He's probably talking about Silver dollars there, no? Couldn't you still get real silver dollars (Peace/Morgan) up until about that time? 10,000 to 315,000 is 31.5x. That's about right for a nice silver dollar.

creshka,
Perhaps you could get that kind of return on a numismatic coin...? Not sure.

Nickels are a terrible investment if you look at the last 146 years.

Its taken 146 years for its metal value to hit 5 nominal cents (at least according to spot, which is most often used) You could technically, be waiting a few more decades for it to finally hit its stride, which means you might be long gone before it becomes of great value.

With that being said, I will take any nickels you wish to capitulate back into circulation :)
