1987 toned ASE grade/value?

Postby rsk1963 » Thu Dec 06, 2012 3:41 pm

So this gem recently came across my table. I'll let the pic talk for me, my question is would you send this into pcgs it's got clear fields etc toning is awesome magenta/electric blue around the rim turning orange as we come to the center.

if you wouldnt send it in, what kind of premium should I be looking for. EBAY has pricing sold all over the map. Inquiring minds would like to know.

Thanks in advance

Ok, based on the pic it is a nice coin, but not a top-toner.

It should be worth a premium. Raw maybe double value.

Certified you will probably get your money back on the certification plus a little profit but not much. And eBay fees might eat that up.

It's a nice coin but not a great coin, basically.

Just my opinion.

Right on Barry thanks very much. I don't generally have these come my way, and ebay varies so much from piece to piece. Thanks for the info.

I'm with Barry. Nice toner for sure....worth a bit extra...but not into silly money.

Nice coin. :)

Thanks doc :)

As an aside, I'll be in running through your neck of the woods soon, weather permiting.

Just for my own info

At what point does an ASE command "silly money"?
