OK, great weather for this area for November!!! Like 60....WOW! Anyway, I decided to get a quick hunt in at a local school. The school grounds are huge with soccer, football, baseball, and softball area that have activities throughout the year.

I pull up only to find......ANOTHER LOOTER.....this is MY AREA. A fellow hunter had beat me over here. No problem, lots of room! I did the polite thing and got his permission and to ask which way he was going and also to let him know where I was gonna hunt.

To add insult to my day, he shows me this cool silver ring he just found. It was like a spy ring. It had a hinged compartment where a stone would usually go. It was also a clah-dah ring.

Well I take off and my first target is a quarter....better than zinc!

5 minutes later I hit this little hottie that got me going for all of 5 seconds!

Image

I keep getting mostly clad but I get a super loud "95" on the ATPro VDI and hit maybe, silver #10 for the year.

Image

No hallmark but it is worn down and it passed the acid test. It is very heavy, too!

Here's the junk...for a little over an hour. 43 coins for $4.36, 2 rings, and 1 smashed/elongated penny.

Image

Hunting them low tones again....got 9 nickels....no gold!

well, the new spot we had lined up for today didn't turn out as good as we had hoped for but I did find a 1946 Roosevelt dime, a wheatie and an baby spoon (aluminum?)
We left there and went back to an elementary school where we have found silver in the past and it didn't let us down! My buddy Gary found a 1941 Mercury dime and I found a 1943 a few minutes later. Then I found 2 silver quarters about 10ft apart  That puts me at 28 silver coins this year, my best year ever!

My clad totals for the day:
8 pennies
1 nickel
3 dimes
2 quarters
$0.93 total

Took my machine to White's the other day for repair and now that it is fixed it's raining cats and dogs. Maybe it will dry out this next weekend, I hope.

Did my first plowed field hunt. Cut beans are easier than cut corn! I met up with a guy who had access to about 30,000 acres of farmland. The company he works for buys farm, tears down any standing structures to create more room to plant. We got out old maps from the late 1800's and went to where there was old school houses back then. We hit 4 or 5 spots. Between the three of us.....ATPro, etrac, and a CTX3030, 2 wheats(1910 1916), a 5cent aluminum trade token, and lots of square nails.

I was using the etrac and found a cool kids button. It had a locomotive on it. I also hit some type of ammo. It was a round ball, maybe a deer slug. Very heavy. I scratched it and it looks like lead. I like to think it came from the Revolutionary War. Lots of battles in north central Indiana!

What's wrong with you people back east?

Do you all have big holes in your pockets?

Nice haul BTW.

Are you going to return the earring to Tiffany and Co?

Clean it up, polish it . I bet you get $30-40 on e-bay. Someone is sitting ther with one lonely Tiffany earring.

Went gold hunting for an hour today. I did get a necklace that had some good gold-like VDI numbers on the ATPro. But I doubt it's gold...but a solid "50" was nice to dig at least. Most pull-taps jump in the low 50's. Steady numbers usually yield better results.

Ended up with about a buck in change.

Here's the last 2 hunts with a couple of shots of a previous farmland finds.

Two small hunts. Today was beautiful for this time of year. Dang near 60!!! Anyway I got out for 2 hours. All clad but had a blast just getting dirty!!!!

Image

I was looking for any good low tones seeking some gold on this and my last hunt.

Image

My best low tone hit from the last hunt was this little bracelet. A solid 51 on the VDI. It never moved! It is non-magnetic. My guess it is brass.

Image

Here's my 3 main finds from a hunt with FlushDraw. A big time thank you for the invite!!!!!

An old button with a locomotive on it. An old bullet casing. And a possible deer slug or musket ball or muzzle-loader round???

Image

Image

Image

The ball of lead is VERY heavy for it's size. Any help??? I sat it on a quarter for size.

Totals...

13 quarters
13 dimes
2 nickels
42 pennies

70 coins for $5.07

26 nickels
66 pennies
$21.86 total for 213 coins

Plus 5 tokens and a bunch of junk jewelry.

it was kind of a misty-rainy day here today, that's OK though because there was nobody at the schools to bother us!

I am on vacation this week and today was errand day but, I had a little time to kill before the wife got home. I stopped at my "old faithful" spot to see if I could find any silver. I decided I would stay for an hour or until I found silver, whichever came first. Well, after an hour and 20 minutes and still no silver I was about to give up when I got a nice solid "84" high tone on my Fisher F75, it turned out to be a 1944 Washington quarter. Happy with that find I left and did the rest of my honey-do's.

My finds:
2 quarters
3 dimes
9 pennies
$0.89 totalPlus:
10 wheaties
1 silver quarter (silver coin #30 this year)

Nice job on the silver quarter!

Looks like tax time will be CTX time for me.

0 silver coins this year. 12 pieces of silver jewelry, though. And 1 gold ring!

3300 coins...........none silver!

Time for an upgrade!
