Absolutely brilliant article:
http://www.thestreet.com/print/story/10803963.htmlSelling PMs for FRNs could result in capital gains taxes or worse. But if you "spend" your PMs for other things of value--use the PMs in the same way you'd use FRNs (paying, say, 10 ozs. of Au for a farm, rather than selling the Au and using the FRNs from the sale to buy the farm). I think this is a brilliant approach.

Thanks for the article. I've always advocated buying and selling with real money. Have had the opportunity to do so in the past a few times and as more people wake up I expect more opportunities in the future.
If you are waiting for the "correction" to buy you need to realize that the increasing prices ARE the correction.
$100 Silver soon coming to a location near you.

Yesterday, I used a 10 oz Engelhard bar as a deposit to buy a used car from a private party. The bar was worth just over $200, and I agreed to buy the car on Wednesday for $650 cash, to get the car and will get back the deposit bar of silver.
The guy accepted the bar as a deposit without hesitation, and we wrote up a receipt with the transaction details.

This is why I have Cu cents, Ag Nickels, Ag dimes, Ag quarters, 40% Ag halves, 90% Ag halfs, Ag dollars, and 1oz coins (rounds). They will be much eaiser to SPEND than Au bars.

Terrific article! I will have to file this one for the day I make land purchases! Whoo Hoo!
When I die, I want to go like Grandpa did. He died in his sleep..... Not screaming and hollering like all the passengers in his car.
