So I go to a local Regions to dump 1k in halves and the girl asks when the last time I used the acct was. I told her within the last week and she responds with the acct shows closed and zero balance. At first iwas freaked out because I had 4k in there. I sit down with a banker and it takes numerous calls and over an hour to determine that my acct was closed due to "the user agreement I signed" and that is all they could tell me. Apparently they sent me a 30 day notice to an old address which was returned to them, but they closed my acct anyway. They were going to mail me a cashiers check today but I told them to just let me get the cash at the branch where I was so they opened my acct back temporarily for me to withdraw my 4k in 20's I might add because they didn't have 100's pffft
This will definitely slow my crh down as this was my main dump bank and I already have accts with the next two largest in my area and they don't have too many branches. I was almost waiting for this to happen as I was needing a break since crhing felt more like a job than a hobby at some points this year. All in all, I had a nice year of over 200 ounces pulled and I will definitely miss seeing those silver rims jumping out at me when I tear into a roll.
I opened this acct almost exactly one year ago and I'm guessing they did a standard review and figured out I was abusing them. I even let them charge me some feesalong the way for not meeting a minimal balance some months to hopefully avoid them doing this. I told myself that I was going to hit this year hard and fast and get out since the silver supply appears to be dwindling. Oh, we'll, there is always bb&t.
I will still dump and pick up at a few regions where they know me and see how long it takes for the, to figure out I no longer have an acct lol.

200 ounces ain't bad. Makes me want to try halves again. I got skunked so many times I gave up.

I will lose one of my main dump banks at the end of this year. I started two new banks for dumping.
The games keep going on.

The reason why they closed this acct, was because of a bad address! (They probably mailed out statements to your old address, came back undeliverable, and they closed the acct to protect your ass!)
Just open a new acct, and make sure you notify them in the future with a change of address.

Wow, and the banker at the local branch did mention that, but I thought he was misunderstanding what the teller at the branch closing my acct was telling him or he was just assuming that to be the case. I am going to attempt to open a new acct next week and see what happens. Thanks for the info otuslotus

Something similar happened to me at TD Bank. I knew about it because they had sent me a check in the mail for the account balance. When I went in, the teller said it was due to the user agreement, same as in your case. When they checked into it further, they told me it was bceause of the type of account it was, basically like a Christmas Club account. I remember when I got the account the lady told me that they would empty the account and send me the money near the end of each year, but all I would have to do was come in and re-deposit it. No biggie, I guess--I opened another account that same day. Still a bit of a shocker though. I guess I should be happy they didn't charge me any fees for returning my money to me!
