Best Nickle Day to Date

So many of you have done so very well recently, I decided to step up my obtaining CWRs. So when I got my box of nickels today, I told my fav teller I'd also take any and all her CWRs, up to $80. She tells me she just had an older customer drop off 2 rolls of nickels and 3 of halves. He said "they belonged to his father and it was time to get rid of them". With those words, I'm as happy as a clam at high tide and throw down the cash to take all. She undoes the first nickel roll and says "Hey, a '39" on top". I notice the roll has "Canadian" written on it and tell her "it says so and that it's cool, I collect Canadian also".

When I break them open at home there are 3 X '73; 3 X '42; 3 X '39; and one '38 Jeffersons. The rest are Canadian. All '73 and earlier including the following George V: '52; 2 X 46; 2 X 45 (V)ictory: and (the oldest) one '40. Here is the kicker, except for the older Jeffersons all are AU to BU condition. I'm now as happy as I can get at a clam bake on the beach with a beer in one hand and a hottie in the other (ok, maybe not that happy but getting there).

The halves were less than stellar. One roll with avg. circulation '71s thru ''73s. and two rolls of all clad (unfortunatly, but in) BU condition '73-D. The '73s were in old, machine rolled, Standard Paper Goods Mfg. Co. out of Worcester, Mass. scotched taped to keep together. Have to see if there is any value in them with some research.

We recently got a new digital camera for Christmas but the wife needs to get an adapter to fit our lenses. I'll post picts once she gets it and I figure out how to do it.
