I've been sorting copper for a bit now, but today I bought my first box of dimes through which to hunt.
And I got lucky. 1 1963 Ag Roosie, 2499 copper ones.
Already looking forward to my next box!

Nice going... that's supposedly about the avg.... but I think it's more like you have to go thru several skunk boxes and then, once in a great while, you find a handful concentrated in one box. Thogey's Widow Syndrome

Seems fairly consistent, actually. I've searched 4 boxes... one yielded 5, the others have all had 1 each.
267,500 pennies and 186,000 nickels searched. Hand sorter.

Oh no. You've started down the path. Just wait a few months. You'll be walking into a bank begging the teller for half dollars. "Please, I just need one roll. Gotta find more silver."
