Time-Stamped Historical Spot Prices ??

Postby IdahoCopper » Wed Feb 27, 2013 8:46 am

Does anyone know of a website that will pull up the historical spot price to the minute?

For example, you want to know the spot that was in effect on 20 Feb 13 at 1:13 pm Eastern.
The site would have a way for you to enter the desired date & time, and it would show what spot was at that requested time.

Is there such a site?

my first guess would be to go to the exchange website and look for archived "Times and Sales"

I did that at Kitco, they don't offer this level of detail.

Bullion dealer would probably have a database, but they pay to have multiple sources to make sure that spot price is correct at any given minute.

Spot is not always the same depending on location. London fix can vary quite a bit from the "official" float. Its like how a barrel of Brent oil is about $117 right now, Wext Texas oil $97, and Canadian Tarsands under $80.

Go to Kitco
http://www.kitco.com/charts/livesilver.html
Click on the chart.
That take you to another chart that you can go back and forth on the date and time.

Gets you pretty close but not exact to the minute

Did you see how you can scrub the 2nd chart backward and forward? And if you click in the chart at different places the time and date stamp changes along with spot at that particular time.
