No way! I literally have a stove in the back of my truck RIGHT NOW with mouse turds in it! I guess its going straight to the "unclean sheet" pile at the scrap-yard instead of being broken down for wires.

Who knows what the previous owners put in that stove? Perhaps it was used to cook drugs in a rental apt. before the landlord wrote it off and replaced it due to smell.

A buddy of mine was trying to unseat a pinion bearing from a third member so he popped it in the oven on high, the idea being take it out real quick, douse the bearing with ice while the housing is still hot and it should shrink and fall out. He didn't clean it very well and all the grease trapped in the nooks and crannies smoked the house out. Whole house stunk for 2 weeks and the oven was unusable forever because everything tasted like burnt axle grease after that.

[Source] I worked two summers as appliance delivery/installer/repair for extra cash. No matter what, mice love to borrow in the insulation between the oven cavity and the outer skin. If you want you can go get new insulation so the oven doesn't kill you every time you start it up. Replacing the insulation is a bit of a pain in the ass though.

Its always a good idea to assume they do. NEVER clean mouse droppings or nests without spraying it down with bleachwater or lysol or something similar. It will kill the virus and cut down on dust. And the dust from piss and [shucks] is what transmits the virus to humans, we breath it in, the virus attacks your lungs, you die a very shitty death.

Yeah, I ended up getting like $15 at unclean price, instead of $15 + $1 or $2 of wire. Its definitely not worth the risk. My yard only pays 1 cent more per pound for clean sheet, so I only bother breaking things down to get wire or other goodies like electric motors and cast aluminum. They pay a good amount more for unprepared #2 and such, but that is mainly for the commercial side of the yard, like companies bringing in a truckload of guardrails or something.
