It will be interesting to see how their elections in 30 days are either allowed to play out or are manipulated to elect Maduro.

What was wrong with him? He certainly was better than that POS of a puppet the U.S had in their prior to him.

What is that now the 4th head of state from South America to die of cancer? I remember that ol' Hugo offered oil and thousands of soldiers, firefighters and volunteers after Katrina, and doctors when our country was hit with tragedy. He also offered several times to help low income or distressed families here.

I ain't no kind of fan of socialism, but he wasn't no kim jong il either.

Venezuela is a very rich country with gold, oil, gas, all manner of natural resources, and a nice strategic location. Anyone want to lay odds on how long before AQIV (Al Queda In Venezuela) is blasting across CNN and it's all the media heads can talk about?

I would bet TPTB ( no offence meant to our own "powers that be" ) are in full out double overtime mode rousing "grassroot" movements and backup plans to get "our puppet" in there to fill the vacuum. If that fails, I am betting Venezuela becomes the next home base for the "turrists that hate our freedoms" We might even need to call in the UN to stabilize the country and "keep the peace".

And wasn't Venezuela a major supplier of oil to China? I am sure the FedGov would hate to pass up a chance to kick them in the knee and disrupt energy supply.

He was very bad for his country. They are on the edge of a North Korea type melt down. The population is divided between the Indians and Hispanics, and on the edge of civil war. He used the Indians to get elected, then messed them over, but was able to shuffle blame off on the Hispanics in town.

He could have helped the Indios quite a bit, but he robbed the nation and stuck 2 Billion (was 50 Billion in error) (estimated) in offshore banks.
