Does that mean I have to say "Hi" until I get to 50 posts and then check my nickel rolls? Or by then everyone will be so sick of me they will start throwing nickels at me (please check the year first--09 would be nice). You're right, the kind thing to do would be just buy one!

I haven't come across any 2009's for a while now. I also haven't sorted many nickels lately either, but....I did manage to find a 1937 Buffalo nickel though. It appears to be in very good condition too!

I hope to resume some more nickel and penny sorting in the near future. ;)

I just found 3 2009s in the last box I searched. 2 D and one with the mint mark scratched off. That brings me to a total of 5 D, 1 P, and one unknown. Too bad the P's in bad condition. Oh well, just sort more...

they gotta be Philly.....here's what i remember doing, this was a brick i picked up down in Chicago from JP....and y'know the holes?...i was looking at the thing, and they're all shiny. i NEVER crack a box, and i had just heard that 09's were low mintage....open the box, took out five rolls from different parts, gently pulled the paper off, took five out, all 2009's....i do NOT remember seeing a D....or P, which would indicate Philly........i did this with all five rolls, five coins off the top, same thing, every roll, then i carefully put em back, a little tape to button it up....i know it was five rolls and five coins, but every one of them 09's?....and all the others look the same, so........i loathe this word, "assume"...i can assume, its a box of 09'-P's that found its way to that city......and you know why i stack brick's of nicks, right?.......if we Cyprus, or the power goes off, THATS my way of holding frns...instead of paper money, those $2 rolls are "cash" for some sort of emergency.

Now i know, that i could start selling obw's.....and i just read two minutes ago, that some guy sold a pair of obw uncirc's for $139 EACH....(lol...oh man!)...but here's the deal....my boy, 17, i'm thinking of him...whatever happens, the mint number's will keep, and years from now....he knows the stack, why its there...its HIS...i'd much rather have HIM be able to sell 45 2009-P obws in 20??...same thing with the Ag stack...barring some nightmare collapse...i'm good to go, (Thank You Lord!)....thats for him, his inheritance, plus the land and ranch, everything...i'm not selling Ag, and the lad KNOWS coins, silver, etc...so he's not a dunce...you got kids?...you know the drill...i want that precious lad set up good for the future, whatever that future may be...i dont want him without me, being vulnerable...like i got left. so there it is...not bad. i'm going to still keep stacking bricks, until they debase. n.

Don't know what is different about Vegas, but I find almost two-times as many 2009s than I do pre-60s.

Hm, that's odd. I think I underestimated, I probably have like 10 2009s actually, but I get like 20 or so pre-60s per box.

Neil, nickels have mintmarks even if they're from Philadelphia. You're thinking of pennies. If they are P, that's great. Even D would be nice.

this is from 2 years ago, 25 coins total, picked from 5 rollls out of 50, and all i was looking for, was that '2009' , so i wasnt focused on P or D, and dont recall....i do know its a nice box just to sit on, which is what i intend in doing with all undebased 75/25 nickels....and then steadily you'll see them climb....2 times,, then 3 times face.and this lucky box has a numi bump to it.

my gut tells me, in the future soild undebased bricks of 100FV will go to 10 times face, which isnt a bad return, on a low initial investment. i;m sure you'd agree, neil
