i know , i know, handyness of one place versus traveling, but when i go to the whetmore area to get bottles from the rusty nail. i take my cans to the the guys on price st. at 95 cents. he also ups the price on plastic to .40. better than normas by enough to make a truckload worthwhile.

There is a guy buying computer boards on the northwest side, when I get enough of them I was planning on taking some cans to the 95 cent guy.

Thursday I took in 225Lbs of scrap steel and got 8.75¢/Lb for a total of $19.70 after
they rounded up to the next 5¢.

Consisted of all the steel food cans I accumulated over the winter, whatever small
pieces I threw into the cans, a few things I was able to squeeze onto the space on
top of the cans, then the shell of my old dishwasher over the top of the cart.

I had loads about that weight before but usually they protruded over the top of the
cart (which I couldn't do if i wanted the dishwasher shell to go over, it was too big
to put in a cart and would not easily break up to flat pieces) and didn't have quite
so many food cans. (Which are low density even with nesting 3 sizes of them
inside each other.) I must have had more small stuff thrown into those cans
than I thought.

Also salvaged a bunch of matching screws and bolts off a metal shelving unit I took
apart that one of my neighbors was getting rid of last fall, the unit it's self was a bit
rusty but almost none of the screws or nuts had any rust, I guess those must be
stainless steel or something like that. A few of them will come in handy fixing my
snow shovel, the rivets that held the metal blade to the plastic scoop have mostly
come out.

Thats a lot of glass! Last time I was there A guy from the Reservation was in front of us with a giant load of glass. Thankfully he told them to let us go first! I figured we were going to have to help him unload to speed things up!

That's a pretty good price on the motors.
