I know this goes against what the vast majority of you believe, but I think we've seen the high, or nearly so. This is more or less what I thought would happen- a rise in late summer/early fall, then headed lower again. It's what happened the last 2 years. It went a little higher than I expected, but I said I wouldn't be very surprised unless it went up to the old support. I think 25-26 is a very strong resistance that won't be breached. I'm planning to sell a few ounces soon if I can get a fair price (first time I've ever sold). If it goes higher still, I'll just sell more .

We did hit resistance, you could feel it as money came piling in faster and faster, driving the price up $5 in about two weeks. Thing is, we might not see lower lows until next year again. Still, as far as $17, seems like the old couple of highs of $18, from 2008 and 2010, are awaiting. I'll still add an occasional 10 oz. bar when I can, but but I'm still waiting for a recession, just not a big enough buyer with $'s falling out of my pockets.

If you're going to sell metals the question is, in exchange for what? Bonds are tanking even with no Fed taper, just based on the hint of it, and are off multigenerational highs. Stocks are near all time highs, kind of goes against the buy low mantra. Cash may become king for a time, but the taxpayers in that kingdom can't bear the debt burden without inflation and inevitable monetary devaluation. So what's left if you want a reliable investment ... or in many cases just want to avoid getting fleeced? Nothing wrong with a little profit taking though

Looks like a dead cat bounce for the DOW/Gold ratio to me. Happened during the last cycle at least. This bounce is of course over a longer timeframe than recent market moves, rather over the last year or so (as in QE3 + QE4). If Maloney is right the DOW points and the gold price are headed for parity. Equilibrium demands it.

Note that in both of the previous cycles the DOW/Gold ratio did not truly begin to recover until after hitting a new all time low. Past performance is no guarantee of future results, yadda yadda.
