I am considering going to bags instead of rolling and boxing like I have been doing. The question is where are the best places to get them and what is the best size to get?

I usually ask for a couple when I buy, and when I dump. 3 out of 4 W.F. branches give me a couple at a time. One gave me two, but then told me they were for they're own personal use, and I'd have to buy them from office depot. Oh well I still have the other 3.

It's more a storage thing. I have been rolling my copper and storing in 25 dollar boxes because it was neat, stacked well and allow me to keep a running total on the copper. Its labor intensive but gives me something to do when I run out of money for silver. There appears to be several size bags and different brands on the market. The other issue would be counting out 5000 pennies per bag. I would need to find a decent counting machine.

I thought about asking for bags at the bank but don't want to taint my source banks. My dump bank has a free counter so they might give out bags. All and all, my supply/dump thing is working well and don't want to upset the flow.

I like the idea about the tyvex bags from USPS, will have to check that out.

I get the 10x15 bags, but I don't see them listed there any more. Maybe they sold out or stopped carrying them
The 10x15's hold $50 face. So you can use them to deposit at the bank, or use two to ship $100 FV.

I use cloth bags to return my zinc, and the usps to store my copper.

Ok, those who use the bags, what machine are you using to count the pennies? Are they expensive or do you put up with the cheap walmart coin counter? 39.99 I think? I have broken three of those in the past when I used them for my first frankensorter before the pretty red machine came to live at my house.

I cheat, I just weigh the zincs
Never had any problems with them being short.

27 Lb 8.92 oz
I go to about 27 Lb 9.5 oz to be safe.

Thank you. Anyone happen to know the cutoff weights for brinks.dunbar. As I understand it they will weigh the bags when they come in.The bags must be inside a predetermined weight to be acceptable. I have one bank lined up to accept my zincs,but was told it could take 3 weeks before I'm credited.Although I can't see it taking that long.
