My first half pickup of the year and the bank computer dropped all of the orders...no coin at all...

but...just brought in was a bunch of CWR's...

$900 in quarters not searched yet

$150 in dimes...one silver rosie...overall two dimes short on the 30 rolls

$62 in nickels not searched yet

185 rolls of pennies 20.21% Cu. with an extra 84 pennies and 4 clad dimes.

Got my first ever half boxes today. Man; are they a funny looking box or what. Reminds me of a rock a person would turn over in a creek to find crawdads to fish with.

Another box where most of the halves had diff. color marker marks on them. The teller at the bank where I get the String boxes of pennies from says she orders halves for me but they never bring any. I guess I just have to stick with Brinks.

When the dump bank ran the dimes they showed the bag as short $3.14 with 6 pennies on the count. I know there were no pennies in the bag so I got screwed by the counter to a tune of at least $0.54

This bag was short 3 Halves but had 3 quarters and 5 pennies. A net loss of $0.70.

The bag also contained a guitar pick, a flattened penny from a county fair, a car wash token, a plastic sharks tooth, a small metal heart with "Love Always" written on it and the most interesting find was a quarter with the Copper Nickel layers peeled away. The only thing that is here is the copper core. I will include a photo. Have any of you guys found these before?

Very Happy! had to wade through four skunks earlier this week to get here.

Almost six and a half ounces troy.

What is amazing is that it is worth almost twice what it was when I took a break last spring from sorting halves.

Looks like I'm back!

Love averaging in ounces that only cost a couple bucks each.

picked up $40 in halves yesterday at a penny pickup...nada 8-(

Country since you post allot of strange coin finds...I found a very worn penny last night with a single palm tree on one side and whats look to be either a shield or a squarish bell with a wreath surrounding it on the other side...any idea's?

Remember, the 1976-S halves are tricky. 1976-S clads are all proofs. 1976-S 40%ers can be proofs or circulation strikes. The 40%ers weigh 11.50 grams. The clads weigh 11.34 grams. I've only found a very few 1976-S 40%ers searching halves; they seem to be as tough to find as the 1970 40%ers.

My only saving grace was going into the coin shop across the street from the dump bank. I searched through the $0.25 foreign coin box briefly and snagged a few silver foreign from it.
1963 French 5 Franc .835 Silver ASW 0.3222 oz. Cost only a US Quarter
1955 Netherlands 1 Gulden .720 Silver ASW 0.2315 oz. Cost only a US Quarter
2 Panamanian 1/10 Balboa's 1953 and 1962 each .900 Silver ASW 0.0723 oz. Cost only a US Quarter each.
Netted 0.6983 ounces of silver for a cost of $1.00.
I will be going back to this shop on Monday to try and find more!
