Better return than a bank!

Forever stamp history:

May 14, 2007 41¢
May 12, 2008 42¢
May 11, 2009 44¢
January 22, 2012 45¢
January 27, 2013 46¢

2014 49¢ !!

This will be the biggest increase since they started.

BTW: buy forever flat rate boxes now also if you use them a lot.

Looks like almost a 3%/year return since '07 (Engineer, better check my math on this one :) ). Not bad, I've done worse and am still holding on to a couple hundred FRNs worth of those zero coupon, inflation indexed, tax free, limited redemption, quasi-governmental, ultra mini-bonds.

Looks like roughly 2.8%/yr return...which is 56 times better than my savings account.

One problem, unless you plan on using them yourself for postage you will not be able to sell them for face value. You can buy usable postage all day long back of face value on eBay! Abet it might be odd postage stamps with gum labels, but regardless spendable for postage. So this might not be the best "investment" you think.

Yea, I can usually find forever stamps at about 10% off shipped on e-bay. I have got 20% off for some weird machine printed ones but they are still good. Older non forever stamps get cheaper but of course their value does not go up with postage inflation.
"If the American people ever allow private banks to control the issue of their currency, first by inflation, then by deflation, the banks and corporations that will grow up around them will deprive the people of all property until their children wake up homeless on the continent their Fathers conquered....The issuing power should be taken from the banks and restored to the people, to whom it properly belongs."
